The last thing i wanted was a beat for beat recreation of the original after what happened last year with the adaptation of The Lion King and was more than surprised to see my wish came true this year with the quarantine release of Mulan.
The story follows Mulan's growth from following the norms of what a woman is supposed to do to breaking free and being able to show her true strengths. The movie was engaging from start to finish and had more than enough changes to make the film fresh while making plenty of call backs just to fuel your nostalgia and make you smile.
